Esther really love Laurence and father Paul.She worshiped and trust them but father Paul stopped Lauren to get marry with her.Father Paul told him to forget her and marry factor's daughter because Esther is red-skin,bad blood and the daughter of pagan Indian where her mother is uncivilized;her father has a a dash of French somewhere-half breed.He cant trust her who might leave him and return back to her prairies and her buckskins.Father Paul told him,he should marry with a white girl but not her.All that thing changed his mind and agreed with the father Paul to marry to a white girl.She heard every words and realized that father Paul pretended to love her and care for her happiness and she stopped loving them and start hating them like hell.Esther care for his god,heaven,his hell but she did not get anything in return.Whatever father Paul did to her does not exist at all.Actually he did that only to bring her to christian.She hated them so much after knowing them that they are fake.She wanted to kill Laurence who betrayed her so that will break Father Paul's heart and he suffers.He has killed the best of her,her womanhood so she will kill his best of his pride,his hope-his sister's son. She found small arrow from her beaded bag of her buckskin dress which her mother gave her.Then she quietly went to him and knelt down and touch his hand with her lips then again the vision of that white girl and she scratched his hand twice with a arrow-tip and single drop of blood came out and he stirred.She turn the lamp down and ran out of the house and finally went back to to her family.
